Job: Staff Accountant

Location: Monrovia, CA

Position will report to the Senior Accountant.  

 

Job Duties include:

 

Accounting tasks and responsibilities

 

·        Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment

·        Process 3 way P.O. matching invoices

·        Prioritize invoices according to business need and payment terms

·        Track expenses and process expense reports

·        Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments

·        Prepare and perform check runs

·        Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records

·        Reconcile accounts payable transactions and cash accounts

·        Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date

·        Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues

·        Maintain vendor files including updated W-9’s and 1099’s

·        Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries

·        Update monthly cash forecast

·        Assist with quarter end closing

·        Provide supporting documentation for audits

Administrative support

 

·        Provide administrative support including providing backup coverage for the reception area (phone inquiries, directing calls, receiving, etc.).  

·        Assist with payroll processing as needed. 

 

                      

Qualifications/Requirements:

 

Education and Experience

 

·        4 year college degree; Accounting degree preferred

·        2+ years of experience in performing full cycle accounts payable and general accounting 

·        Strong critical/independent thinker

·        Proficient in Excel

·        Very strong communication, information and time management skills

·        Knowledge of general accounting procedures

·        Knowledge of relevant accounting software

·        Proficient in data entry and management
