Reports to: Manager of Accounting and Financial Reporting


The Senior Accountant position is responsible for ensuring that the company’s financial statements are reported accurately and timely, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles; ensures that financial audits are completed timely; and continually seeks to enhance reporting processes and internal controls. The Senior Accountant is expected to perform the technical and administrative duties of the position independently with minimal daily direction from the Manager of Accounting, and to apply sound judgment in the recommendations and/or day-to-day decisions which have impact on the organization.


  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules timely and accurately based on generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures.

  • Analyze revenue and expense accounts to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis.

  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations

  • Analyze financial statements on a monthly basis and provide comprehensive explanations on variances.

  • Complete financial and tax audits.

  • Assist with tax return and tax provision requirements.

  • Enhance internal control documentation and monitor internal controls for appropriateness with recommendations for improvement, where needed.

  • Assist with any ad hoc or periodic governmental tax, regulatory, informational or other reporting requirements.

  • Design, maintain and monitor procedures and policies of the accounting function to ensure efficient and transparent financial recording and reporting practices.

  • Prepare ad hoc reports, as required, by the Vice President Finance & IT


  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field.

  • CPA or MBA designation preferred.

  • 5+ years experience as a senior accountant in a manufacturing organization

  • Considerable knowledge of accounting theory and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal control procedures and accounting and financial reporting systems.

  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and analyzing complex financial reports, completing financial and tax audits, and enhancing internal controls and documentation.   

  • Highly detail oriented; ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects to meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.

  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.

  • Must demonstrate knowledge of intermediate Excel functions (i.e. pivot tables, vlookups, and other data analysis functions on a large scale and complex spreadsheets).

  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.

  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus
