SUMMARY
The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager complies and analyzes financial
information for the organization. Develops integrated revenue/expense analyses,
projections, reports, and presentations. Performs financial forecasting and
reconciliation of internal accounts.
Job description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Reports to the BU Controller
Prepares and improves monthly management reports, forecasts and analyses
Provides quality business analysis to support management of the BU to improve
results in terms of profitability, cost and working capital.
Assists in the development and maintenance complex budget, cash flow and
business forecasting models that incorporate current business trends and
operating strategies
Collaborates with the management team to develop annual operating and capital
budgets and rolling financial forecasts that incorporate current business
trends and strategies
Partners with IT on continuous improvement initiatives to improve and
reengineer transaction processes and management reporting systems
Responds to issues and problems raised by departmental managers to drive issue
investigation, analysis and resolution
Develops comprehensive performance analysis and decision making reporting for
business managers across the organization
Participates in the long range planning process and development of associated
financial models
Leads automation of models and processes which result in streamlining
forecasting, month-end and repetitive reporting
Conducts analysis and build financial models to inform the team on operating
strategies, investment recommendations, and new business opportunities
Evaluates current processes and tools, and propose changes in order to drive
efficiencies within the team
Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents
findings to management
Monitor monthly department expenses versus budget
Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the payroll
process
Performs other duties as assigned by management

Proficient in Microsoft Office and with emphasis in Excel and Access preferred.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in accounting, finance, information systems or
business or equivalent experience and 5+ years of finance experience with an
understanding of operation preferred. Aerospace or Manufacturing Industry and International experience a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals,
professional journals, governmental regulations and comprehend documents such
as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
and ability to write routine reports and business correspondence in English.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups
of management, clients, board members or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Current knowledge of math skills used in common corporate financial reports.
Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide units of measure using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as
percentages and ratios to reports, as needed.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished
in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving
several concrete variables in standardized situations. Demonstrates good
judgment and the ability to make sound decisions when dealing with difficult
employees and varying personalities in a business, “customer service” and
manufacturing environment.
